What do chocolate chip addictions, being afraid to speak up, and getting up energized have in common?

Before I get started with these amazing stories and experiences, let's define NLP. Neuro-linguistic programming (NLP) is a study of how we communicate with ourselves and others. It is a way to understand how our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are connected and how we can change our patterns to achieve our goals.

A few years ago, I was exposed to NLP techniques but didn't think much of it. However, my curiosity won out, and I purchased an NLP manual, watched a couple of courses, and then started to implement the techniques into my coaching.

Over time, I've seen the positive effects of NLP in my life and my clients' lives. As someone who loves chocolate but has very little self-control, I found myself downing handfuls of chocolate chips. It was part of my way to get my sugar fix and also to make myself feel better when I was stressed.

Through a simple technique, I have stopped eating chocolate chips (and I'm okay with that). In a similar vein, I've helped clients quit pizza bites and trips to fast food on the way home, and I helped someone else with their chocolate chip addiction as well.

Why does this matter to you? These little changes add up. One client's addiction to the pizza bites was preventing her from losing weight which lowered her motivation and increased the stress on an old injury. This then impacted her professional performance as well.

Coaching and NLP

My coaching, combined with NLP, gets to the core of what is preventing your success in business and achieving a specific personal or professional goal.

We can talk until we are blue in the face about tactics and strategies to improve systems and processes, then create SMART goals to make it happen. But if you have patterns that create fear around talking in networking settings, speaking on a stage, fears in sales, procrastination...etc., all the effort around tactics and strategies won't permanently change how you approach your business and life.  No matter what one client of mine did, he struggled to get out of bed when his alarm went off.

He would snooze and then drag himself out of bed. The motivation for the day would drag along too. After a coaching call, we stopped this pattern and now he wakes energized.

What difference do you think that made in his work performance? Huge!

Another client of mine is new in the architecture field and was afraid to speak up in meetings or answer the phone when consultants and clients called for fear of not having the answers or knowing what to say. As we discussed the situation, I asked if I could coach him using some NLP techniques. Once he said yes, we spent the next 15 minutes to help him change his mindset and patterns. He told me a few weeks later that all the stress and fears about those situations were gone.

How Does it Work?

NLP works by understanding the relationship between our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. It is based on the idea that we create our own reality by the way we think and behave. The coaching helps you approach situations where your thoughts, feelings, and behaviors are then reprogrammed to how you want them. Think about the areas in your life where you are self-sabotaging. Through my coaching and NLP, we can change this. Look at the list below, does an area stand out to you where your results aren't what they could be?

  • Physical
  • Emotional
  • Professional
  • Financial
  • Relational
  • Spiritual

I've just completed my fourth NPL training, this time getting master-certified in NLP. In the short time I've been coaching clients with these techniques, I have seen so many lives permanently changed in powerful ways. The change this brings them is such a joy for me to see.

The challenges and struggles you've been experiencing in the six areas above don't need to remain. And when you are free of those challenges, your performance improves, your life improves, and the success of your business will follow. If this sounds intriguing to you, I'd love to chat more about it. Please don't hesitate to reach out, schedule a call, and let's talk!
